Business Connections

Since residents and businesses are mutually dependent, SCA works to foster good relationships with local businesses and provides them opportunities to promote their businesses with our members. We encourage members to “Shop Springfield” at our meetings and activities, in our newsletter, and on this website to help keep our business community thriving. We invite all businesses in the SCA area to join us via a business membership.

We also offer a variety of other opportunities in which businesses can simultaneously promote their business while also supporting SCA in its efforts to inform, maintain and improve the community we share as shown below.

Mutual Business Promotion-SCA Support Opportunities for Businesses

  • Promote your business by briefly introducing yourself to the membership at the start of our regular meetings (no agenda time allotted).
  • Provide hospitality (light refreshments) at a membership meeting. This entitles you to a business display table and up to a 5-minute business presentation to the membership prior to the start of the main topic for that meeting. Your business will be announced as the hospitality provider in the meeting and in the Meeting Minutes posted on this website.
  • Donate door prizes for a meeting. Your business will be announced as the donor at the meeting, in the Meeting Minutes posted on this website, and in the list of Businesses Supportive of SCA on this webpage with a link to your business website.
  • Advertise your business by placing an ad in the SCA newsletter. Exposure to repetitive ads familiarizes members with your business and reinforces SCA’s “Shop Springfield” philosophy. The price of an ad is $45 per newsletter.
  • Be an event or activity sponsor by providing funds, equipment, materials, skills or other necessities. This entitles you to have your business name and logo displayed on event promotional materials, and your business listed on this page linked to your website.
  • Underwrite the full cost of SCA’s participation in an activity or event; e.g., National Night Out. This entitles you to have your business name and logo displayed on event promotional materials, your business listed on this page and linked to your website, and a free advertisement in the remaining SCA September – June newsletters for our operating year.
  • Offer a venue for membership or executive committee meetings. If used, your support will be announced to the membership or the executive committee prior to the meeting. If it’s used for a membership meeting, it will be published in the newsletter preceding that meeting.

SCA Businesses as Partners in the Springfield Community

SCA encourages members to patronize the generous and civic-minded businesses and organizations that have been providing SCA the kinds of support discussed above. Without the support they provide, SCA’s ability to represent members’ interests in the civic life of the community would be severely curtailed. When you stop in to support those who support us, give them a big SCA thank you!
