HAPPY 70th BIRTHDAY SPRINGFIELD!

70 years ago, in April of 1951, Edward Carr sold 593 acres of land to the Crestwood Construction Corporation to start building the first fully developed subdivision of Springfield…Crestwood.

To mark this milestone in Springfield’s history, the Springfield Civic Association (SCA) would like to give the Crestwood’s Springfield sign a facelift!

Even though the triangle of land on which the sign stands is privately owned, the SCA has an easement for the maintenance and care of the Crestwood sign.

The SCA is looking for contributions to help with the restoration of the sign.

This is a great opportunity to promote and invest in Springfield

WILL YOU HELP RESTORE THE CRESTWOOD’S SPRINGFIELD SIGN?

The SCA has been given an estimate of approximately $1,000 from a professional painting company to restore the sign. This would include re-pointing the mortar between the bricks, cleaning, scraping, sanding, priming and painting the sign.

Any amount you can afford will be greatly appreciated. Please see below to donate.

Thank you for supporting Springfield with your contribution!
